simple summer style | t-shirt and Gap denim skirt

As much as I love wearing big and bold pieces, once the weather warms up I want loose and light.  This Wilfred Free t-shirt has the perfect amount of drape…and it balances nicely with my Gap denim skirt.

As far as accessories go, I’m sure be getting lots of use out of these classic, neutral pieces this summer.  Gold necklaces and bangles are always in style and this tan leather bucket bag looks great with just about everything!

Three quick things…

#1  I want to say thanks for all of your input that you gave yesterday!  I really appreciate your thoughts!  If you don’t know what I’m talking about, take a look here.  Three special friends will get a little treat from the island of St. Croix.

#2  Let me tell you all about the joys of having a 4 year-old daughter…She tells me I look beautiful nearly everyday (she knows how to play her cards right!)  She reminds me when our nails are “chippy” and we need to repaint them.  And, most recently, she requests that we wear matching (or nearly matching) outfits.  This day was all about pink dresses with flowers.

The Downside of Thrifting - Knocked Up Fabulous

After all the good things I have to say about thrifting, there is something that totally bums me out…

No, it’s not the grodiness, or the part about wearing clothes that someone else has worn before…It’s finding something so cool that’s not in your size!  I love these pants.  They’re just a size too big.  I guess I could take them to my local, trusty seamstress (ahem…Mom…), buuuut some days just call for over-sized, baggy pajama pants.  (So I’ll wear them with a smile.)

And that just means I’ll have to keep hunting for another pair.

Florals and a High Pony

I’ve been playing around with some different hair styles in hopes that when I chop off my hair I don’t regret not doing anything with it while it was long.  This straightened pony was very easy to do (and not too time consuming!)  Polly said she loves fixing her hair like this and I can easily tell why!

If you’ve been voting over at Circle of Moms for Knocked Up Fabulous, thank you sooooooo much!! Just a few days of voting left.  Please help keep KUF stay towards the top…just takes two clicks!

Oversized Button Down

28 Sep 2012 Permalink

One easy outfit that I’ve been repeating a lot has been an oversized button down with a pair of skinny jeans.  Worn with flats or a wedges, a light jacket or a scarf, this ensemble always works for me when I need to run out the door to the doctor’s office, grocery shopping, ballet class…

Sailor Made

Wearing stripes and red usually make me feel a little French…but with this jacket (thrifted, of course, with the tags still on! Gotta love it when someone regrets their impulse purchase…) I’m ready to take on the sea…or a class of second graders.

And because it’s been hard to sneak a few shots by myself…

Happy (Fashion) Friday!
