If you read my last post, then you know I’ve been having a bit of a moment with the color red.  (I really can’t stop wearing these shoes!)  Gold on the other hand, has always been a favorite of mine.  It’s one of those neutrals that plays well with just about all the other items in my closet.

On a sad (and shallow) note, my curling iron got destroyed.  Let’s just say using the tub as a place to cool off the styling tool wasn’t a good idea…just as it wasn’t a good idea for my husband to turn on the shower without looking inside the tub first.  Until I pick up a new one, I’ve been trying (unsuccessfully) to use my flat iron to add some curls and waves.  Uh…much harder than the YouTube video showed.  If you know how to curl hair with a flat iron, give me some tips!

Cool Down

24 Aug 2012 Permalink

This skirt has really been put to use! I’ve worn it like crazy during the summer, and now that the mornings are cooler, it works equally well with a buttoned cardigan.

On another jolly note…Happy Friday, people!  It’s the last day of the work week, and then I seriously need to decide what I’m going to do for Project DIY – Embellishment.  There are so many diy options…I’m having a hard time making a decision!  (Hope you’re getting your project done!  Remember to send me your info by August 29!)

No Velcro Please

02 Dec 2011 Permalink

Tights and motherhood are not a good mix.  You don’t realize how many toys/clothes/diapers have velcro until it’s too late…and if the baby junk doesn’t catch ya, the sharp, little toe nails will!

Tonight I’m headed to a clothing swap (my first ever!) hosted by this blogger…hoping to walk away with a good score or two.

Sheer Happiness

20 May 2011 Permalink

The sun is out, I have one week left of school before vacation, and I found this lovely sheer cardi for 3 bucks…what more could a girl ask for?!?

The thing I love about jackets/blazers/cardigans is that they are so versatile.  This makes it super easy for an expecting mama to use pieces from her “regular” wardrobe and incorporate them into her pregdrobe.

Wanna see "before" pictures? Check out yesterday's post! Amazing results!

I am the very lucky recipient of fair skin (can you sense the sarcasm here?).  But over the years, I’ve embraced my paleness.  However, when I have the opportunity to darken up, I take it!

Yesterday, Kelly from Spray Chicago came to my house and, within 20 minutes, she transformed me into a sun-kissed hot mama!  (minus the sun, of course…and I’ll talk more about the Hot Mom bit later).

Enjoy the weekend!!!

Weather Report

For those of us Chicagoans, they say if you don’t like the weather, wait 5 minutes because it will change.  (Whose “they”?  I have no idea…)  But, I’m really hoping that this warm weather will stick around for a bit longer…at least 8 to 10 minutes.  (And I’m sure that I’ll be cursing at the weather come “real” summertime…my feet are already starting to swell.)

Plain White T

21 Apr 2011 Permalink

Don’t underestimate this little gem.  A plain white t-shirt adds a crisp, classic element to any outfit.  Plus, it’s so versitle…wear it with dress pants, skirts of all lengths, use it to dress down a gold sparkly cardian…the possibilities are endless.  (My only problem is keeping them spot-free; not really possible with this lifestyle…so I buy mine cheap and often.  Any suggestions for keeping them super white?)

Wind Blown

19 Apr 2011 Permalink

As much as I love my tights and sweaters, I’m really itching to start packing them away in lieu of warmer gear… no so such luck today.  Which is ok for now because I desperately need to call Kelly at SprayChicago for a spray tan…even just a light coating with a little shimmer will help with the tights-to-bare-legs transition.

I spotted this skirt at Goodwill (big surprise, I know) and instantly wanted it for my pregdrobe (pregnancy wardrobe) for 2 reasons: 1: the pattern and 2: the elastic waist band.  Hopefully soon I’ll be wearing it with a tank and some sandals!

These are a few of my favorite things…

Ahhh, spring time; a time when it’s either rainy or sunny.  Forecast for today: rain.  To prepare for the dreary weather, I found comfort in a few favorites of mine from my closet: maxi tank dress made from jersey material (super comfy), over-sized cardigan, and my multi-colored stone necklace.  Bring it on, rain!
