I love finding vintage pieces at the thrift store.  I’m not talking about those wacked out pieces that look like potential Halloween costumes.  I’m talking about items like this silk blouse that just need a little tweaking.

This blouse has the prettiest little floral pattern on it – plus it’s black and white.  Naturally I had to get.  Unfortunately it also had shoulder pads and long sleeves.  And last time I checked, 80s style shoulder pads were not trending.  But, after removing the padding and hemming the sleeves a bit, I was left with an adorable top!

One quick hem and this vintage blouse turned in my current favorite.  Doesn’t it look like something you’d find at the store today?!  I love updating vintage pieces!

LOVE it! I always seem to find pretty things with shoulder pads at the thrift store haha. Love how you hemmed the sleeves up too 🙂 And those jeans are amazing – as is your hair!! Pretty sure I’ve gushed over your hair before though 😉

Thank you, Jessi! Sometimes it’s hard to look past the shoulder pads at the thrift store! I usually fall for the prints and then think about what I can do to wear it. Thanks for the hair complements, too! It’s taken me until my 30s to figure it out!!

Well done! It looks great and trendy now. I wish I had an eye for the possibilities of altering things. Going to practice next time I go thrifting!
