On Dreams and Shopping With Children

November 2, 2012

My husband is such a good sport.  Last week Who What Wear sent out an email about a blogger project.  I fantasized about it for a moment, but then my husband said, why not give it a shot?  So, he let me drag him out to shot a little casting video on Sunday.  (If you want to watch me embarrass myself…take a look at it here.)

A girl can dream…right?

And in case you have no idea what it’s like to shop with children…

Feeding the kids Goldfish with one hand, while I browse the racks with the other.  It’s all about the snacks…once mama is out of them, the shopping trip is over!

Happy Friday!

Thanks, Olivia! We moms need to have a little fun, too…right?!

You did great on your video, April! Very natural. And I completely relate to your shopping experience. Relying on the thrift store toy section (and GOLDFISH snacks) to keep my son occupied, while I make decisions at a nearby mirror. (Reserving pants buying for sans kiddo trips because the fitting room just doesn’t work with a 3 year old).

lol…it sounds like our trips are exactly the same! At this Savers they have one large try-on. I just bring in my whole cart with the kids in it. But then I’m rushing beyond belief to try things on before the kids go haywire. If I’m ever in your area, I’d love to do a thrift run with you!

My child inhales goldfish like they are going out of style. I love the blue pants! They look fabulous on you. I am so impressed with people who are pro thrifters. I never have any luck. I need some lessons…

Thanks, Amy! It took some practice (many trials and errors) before I became comfortable with thrifting. I think it’s all about me knowing my body-type and what clothing and colors look best.

You are a braver Woman than I, I hate shopping with my kids, sadly it means I miss out on one of my favourite passtimes.

I know, Polly! Shopping with baggage stinks! Usually I only go shopping when I have a day off from work…never on the weekends unless another adult comes with!

This is my ideal kind of outfit, April – slouchy sweater, wide leg trousers and a leather jacket is heaven to me, and I love your outfit’s colours! Also, your hair/lips/sunnies are the perfect accessories… so lovely :)

Thank you for all the lovely comments on my blog, hun! I didn’t have you in my Bloglovin feed for some reason but I’ve sorted that now, so I’ll be back!

Hope you’re having a great weekend

I like the video you have done, great job! When WWW sent me a invitation and asked me if I want to join the competition, I just don’t feel I have enough confident, and in another point, I have never done a video, only few for my son…wish you all the luck!
