Potential

July 12, 2012

Way back, when I went to Branson for my cousin’s wedding, I stopped by a local thrift store there and came across this interesting blast from the past…

I was drawn to the color, but after removing the blazer I was pleasantly surprised at the shift dress underneath!

At the end of the school year I wore it with an army-green jacket, but it’s been sitting in my closet since…so I decided to play a little dress up showcasing my 3 favorite ways to wear most any dress.

I’m a huge fan of statement necklaces!  They look great with solid colored dresses like this one (even though the dress is a bold color.)

Adding a blouse or other top makes a dress wear like a skirt.

Another way to “get the most” from a dress is to use it as a top and slip a skirt over it.

I really try to work most of my dresses this way…having 3 different options to a garment gives you more use out of it.  Now I just have to think about what to do with the crazy pink blazer that came with this dress…maybe I can use the buttons for something!

I really enjoy these “option” posts. I finally had a friend who is a wardrobe consultant come over and go through my closet. I had no idea I had so many options in there. I also weeded out the wazzoo, and what I want to “look” like has finally come into focus. So, let the wardrobe games begin!

I love all the combinations you put together with this dress, very nice! That jacket…I think it has some potential laying in wait…and if any one can pull off a refashion, I think it would be you. I’m always inspired by how you wear your clothes and what you put together.
