Return of the Pencil Skirt

February 17, 2012

I love a good pencil skirt.  They are a staple in my teacher wardrobe and they’re finally making it back into my rotation (nothing wacks up a woman’s body like pregnancy!)

When I wear them during the cooler months, I like to either match my tights to the skirt or match my tights and shoes…it makes my already short (5’3″) frame seem a little taller.

That green skirt is the bomb!!! I’m 5’3″, too and often have to get skirts shortened a little so they don’t swallow up my super short legs!!

I feel your pain! It can be such a hassle to hem up skirts and pants! Your legs don’t look short, though! I wouldn’t have guessed you’re also 5’3″!

The chambray and green skirt looks so great together. Definitely think matching tights with shoes or skirt works very well for lengthening. I finally did a little thrift outing this weekend, while helping a friend shop–you’ll appreciate this, found a vintage pencil skirt in bright blue for $3 (50% off at Savers) and plan to hem it up this coming week. Hope it turns out the way I imagine in my mind. You’re outfit is totally inspiring me to get crackin’ on it!!
